Banner Elk, North Carolina

This unique house was designed to fit the extreme topography on the highest point at the Diamond Creek Golf Course in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Richard Seaberg positioned the house on the steep sloping hillside with views of the Beech Mountain Ski Resort to the northwest with the foothills of Tennessee far off in the misty distance. The multi floor levels and expansive wrap around decks allowed for custom stonework (exterior fireplaces and stone piers) which, when combined with RSAP advanced foundation engineering, created the rustic original design. The approach to the house below the roadway introduces the beamed Port-Co- Chere that tiers downward via a covered boardwalk to the front entry.
